all so I'm going to be running my 2440's around 6 or 700hz to around 8khz or so. Any advise on a good horn to use for a home system? Check diysoundgroup.com they have pretty decent kits, Parts express has some also, there`s a cheapish one called the c note. An amplifier board that that does at least 25x2 and runs off an old laptop power supply can be had for like 20 US.

What makes this unique is that this is also amongst one of the few sand filled designs out there. They have many options from flatpack to fully assembled. Another Fostex kit with a good rep is the the Frugal Horn. A lot of people on diyaudio swear by it. Madisound also has some very reputable Fostex kits that others on this forum are big fans of.

In my opinion, for your first build I would consider designs where you can contact the designer in case you have questions. I would start with Vapor Audio, Selah Audio, and DIYSoundGroup. From there, consider what comes with the kit to determine what other expenses will be involved in the build.

You want to go with Klipsch because of the finished cabs, quality of finish and warranty. Klipsch are easy to resell and hold their value. I have seen quite a few 2512, a faital pro, and the TD series from AE. Along with the 4012, but no posted crossover due to it being designed by Jeff Bagby and sold on diysoundgroup.
